FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • Your boat cover is the best possible way to protect your time on the water. A quality cover protects against dust & debris and unwanted animals getting inside your boat. It also provides UV protection for your boat's interior. So yes, at Canvas Craft we believe you need a boat cover.

  • While boat covers are designed to repel water, no cover is 100% waterproof. Some water can leak through seams and other custom-designed areas.

  • Trailering a boat with a cover comes with complications and challenges, so the best case is to trailer without the cover and cover afterward (in order to extend the life of the cover). Our custom covers can be designed to help with aerodynamics during trailering, but best practice is to remove before trailering.

  • Yes, you'll be a lot happier with both the fit and functionality if our team can measure and cut your boat cover at our shop.

  • Our custom boat covers are designed with the best fabric materials on the market. These fabrics, depending on care & cleaning, are designed to last 7-10 years.

  • Unfortunately, no. But, we have a list of preferred partners for this type of work, so don't hesitate to reach out and we'll make sure you get pointed in the right direction.

  • Typically we'll need your boat for 5 business days, but timelines can vary depending on materials, boat type, and the business of season. Note: we're busiest between April and August.

  • Yes, but we typically schedule these during the offseason, as they can take-up quite a bit of space in our shop (and we want to make sure your boat is safe inside).

  • In most cases, repairs take 1-2 weeks, but this can vary based on the materials needed and our current schedules.

  • Unfortunately, no, but in certain cases we can setup appointments for a weekend drop-off.

  • Yes, all of our covers are custom, which means we have solutions for every type of boat.

  • At Canvas Craft, we recommend boat covers based on how you're planning on using, storing and trailering your boat. At the end of the day, the best covers are the ones that fit your unique boating needs, because quality and a perfect fit should be guaranteed already.

  • At Canvas Craft, our boat cover prices are based on the size of cover, fabric being used, and any customizations (i.e. notches for trolling motor, gas cap, etc.) required. At a high level, you should plan on your quality, custom boat cover ranging between $900-$1,250.

  • While tarps can provide some protection, they are - in most cases - not trailerable, and usually do not protect your boat against heavy rain or snow. This, coupled with limited ventilation, which can cause moisture/mold/mildew to build up, makes choosing a custom boat cover the better solution.
